“Woodcarver Cottage”, Circa 1927 in Tryon, North Carolina. $395,000

This could be such an amazing house! Tryon has such an interesting history with toy making and wood carving. There were two women that worked at the Biltmore Estate Industries. They carved toys and crafts. The Vanderbilts sent them to Scotland to learn more about the trade, especially weaving. The goods they produced were used at the Biltmore Estate. In the early 1900’s the women decided to move their enterprise to Tryon. This cottage was known as the woodcarver cottage. They also had a toymaker’s cottage. (I actually did a video tour of the toymaker’s cottage awhile back). This home was built in 1927. It is located on .21 acres in Tryon, North Carolina. The home features unique woodworking, leaded glass windows, One bedroom, one bathroom and 1,125 square feet. $395,000
