Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello Make Heartbreaking Announcement
In a joint statement, Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have made a sad announcement.
After seven years of marriage, the former couple has made the decision to divorce. Their statement comes after people began to question the status of their relationship when Joe shared a throwback photo of him and her on social media to celebrate Sofía’s 51st birthday, with a rather impersonal caption that simply read, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”
In a joint statement shared with Page Six, the former couple said, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
According to E! News, Joe and Sofía began dating after Sofia ended her relationship with business man Nick Loeb in June 2014. The love story that is known to the public is Joe “was traveling for work” when he learned Sofia was single.

Joe reached out to Sofia’s Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson for her number. Their first date was in New Orleans.
“Our first date was her giving me every reason why it would never work out. Like, ‘You’re too young, you’re an actor, you’re this, you’re that,’ and she was just doing it to hear herself say it. She was trying to talk herself out of going there,” Joe told Haute Living in 2015.
Eventually Joe was able to woo Sofia and the rest as they say is history. Eleven months after their first date, the couple became husband and wife.
