Val Kilmer’s kids post pictures of sweet moments with the Top Gun: Maverick star
It is always heartening to see our favorite celebrities with family members. And when their children are all grown up, we get to see another side to them as a father.
Val Kilmer’s children clearly adore their dad because the adorable pictures they posted of their bond with him on Instagram.
Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to the 1986 legendary film. Fans of various ages around the world were incredibly excited to see Tom Cruise’s character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell reprise his role and give us a peak into his life as a seasoned aviator.
But thousands of fans were even more excited when they heard the unexpected news that Val Kilmer will be reprising his iconic role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky for the movie as well!
And with the health issues the actor has faced in the last few years, his character making an appearance on-screen meant even more to fans!
Val has previously told media outlets how excited he was to be on-screen with Tom Cruise again, saying meeting Tom again, “was like no time had passed at all.”
As excited as everyone was, there were two people who were perhaps the most excited about Val Kilmer reprising his iconic role for this eagerly awaited sequel.
This was his children, Mercedes and Jack. His daughter posted pictures from set, captioning them “Finally allowed to post these pics from the @topgunmovie set 🙂 Maverick out now !”

In the picture, she and her brother Jack don pilot hats and her brother has his aviator sunglasses on. And Jack looks incredibly similar to a young Val Kilmer.
The last picture was of an adorable snuggle between father and daughter which Mercedes probably shared with her father while he was on set. It is so sweet that his daughter and son went to the set with their father and saw him working his craft firsthand.
His young son Jack looks exactly like his famous father. The resemblance is uncanny!

Val’s health has been rocky the last few years with some issues persisting to this day. He has been doing better, but we hope his health improves.
It is always so sweet to see a father’s bond with his children. We wish good health to Val Kilmer and his family!
