US Olympic star Simone Biles marries Jonathan Owens in beautiful ceremony: “My person, forever”

Legendary US Olympic gymnast Simone Biles announced on social media this past Saturday that she is now married.

The 26-year-old beamed with pride in a number of romantic images featuring herself and new husband Jonathan Owens, who plays for the Houston Texans.

In the photos – that appear to have been taken in a courthouse – the couple can be seen exchanging vows. Biles is wearing a tiered white gown for her big day, while Owens donned a tan suit.

Owens shared more pictures on his own Instagram page, including a range of behind-the-scenes shots accompanied by the caption: “My person, forever ❤️💍.”

As per reports, Biles and Owens first met via private dating app Raya in March of 2020.

Months later, Biles – a seven-time Olympic medallist – confirmed for fans that she and Owens were in a serious relationship, posting a pair of cute photos of the pair to her Instagram page.

“It’s just us,” Biles captioned the post.

One month after that, Owens posted his own photos of the couple, writing: “Now you rockin with a real one 🤞🏽🖤.”

Having dated for two years, NFL star Owens asked for Biles’s hand in marriage under a gazebo in Houston, Texas, with a diamond ring designed by renowned jewelers ZoFrost.

Following two years of dating, Biles and Owens announced their engagement on Instagram via a series of photos shared last February.

“THE EASIEST YES,” Biles wrote at the time. “I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ 💍🥺🥲🤎 @jowens_3.”

In the beginning, Jonathan claims he didn’t really know who Simone was, despite her celebrity status in the US Olympic team. Fortunately, that turned out to be a blessing.

“I didn’t know who she was,” Owens told Texas Monthly.

“I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.”

“He would say I slid into his DMs,” Simone Biles told Wall Street Journal Magazine. “I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.”

In fact, Simone and Jonathan actually got some help along the way from the former’s younger sister, Adria.

For several weeks, Adria had seen the two lovebirds talking to each other on FaceTime. She decided to grab her sister’s phone one day when the pair were chatting, and invited Jonathan to a family lake house.

The family loved Jonathan – and the couple got to spend some quality time together. Soon, the NFL star was also invited to the Biles’ family dinners.

“We ended up hanging out right before the pandemic,” Jonathan said.

“It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything. So we used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger.”
