Melania Trump is back in the spotlight as she appeared for Rosalynn Carter’s memorial service last week. The former first lady has had quite a challenging year as her husband, former US President Donald Trump, is involved in several court cases that could affect the Trump family’s future.
However, Melania Trump has ensured that she and her son, Barron Trump, are protected no matter what happens to her husband. But at the same time as Donald is heading to trial, the former first lady is now being accused of covering up criminal activities within her family.
Since leaving the White House with her family, Melania Trump has kept a very low profile. The former first lady has spent plenty of time with her and Donald Trump’s son, Barron Trump, at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, but this year has undoubtedly been one of the most hectic and tumultuous in a long time.
Melania Trump attended Rosalynn Carter’s memorial service
In March, Donald Trump was indicted by a New York court. More indictments against him have followed, and several other lawsuits are ongoing.
Now, Donald Trump is going through a civil court case in New York, which could threaten his entire business empire. He is accused of inflating the value of his properties by over $2 billion to secure favorable loans.
However, the former president denied any wrongdoing and called the case a “sham.”
Melania Trump hasn’t spoken out about her husband’s alleged wrongdoings and criminal actions, nor has she been seen with her husband when he appeared in court. She has been seen in New York several times and appeared at a gala dinner with her husband at Mar-a-Lago. Besides that, not much is known about what Melania Trump is doing these days. However, just days ago, she appeared in public.
Some weeks ago, former president Jimmy Carter’ ‘s wife, Rosalynn Carter, passed away at age 96. On Tuesday, the memorial service was held for the former first lady – and all living former first ladies were in attendance. Melania Trump sat in the front row alongside Jill Biden, Micelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton, all in order of their years in the White House.
However, one detail regarding Melania Trump’s outfit left fans saying she was “disrespectful.”
On social media, several accounts called out Melania Trump for wearing a light grey coat, not a black one.
“Turns out Melania is every bit as disrespectful and lacking in class as her husband,” one person wrote, per Yahoo.
Melania Trump criticized by former aide over outfit
Meanwhile, Melania Trump’s former aide and friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who worked with the former first lady during the first years in the White House, lashed out against her choice of clothing.
“Melania Trump knew every time she made a public appearance, ‘a picture would be worth a thousand words.’ In Melania’s case, the picture would have to do all the talking. This time is no different!” Wolkoff wrote on X.
“Melania made this service a photo op for herself, instead of handling her apprarance with dignity and humility, she used it as a cat walk,” she added. “Rosalynn Carter is a national treasure who exemplified a life of humanitarian service with a spirit of generosity, dignity, and compassion for all of God’s children. May she rest in peace.”
However, everyone didn’t agree. Several people defended Melania, jumping to her defense.
“What kind of man worries about how a woman that he has never met is dressed…?” one person stated on X.
Another added, “No, what’s tacky & lacking in class is taking what was supposed to be a day of remembrance for the death of a former First Lady and making the conversation about the color of someone’s clothes. Ridiculous.”
To say the least, the Trump family is going through a very challenging time. The justice system will decide if he has broken any laws, and time will tell whether it will change their lives.
Meanwhile, Melania Trump has decided to start thinking about the future, especially in a future where her husband could be found guilty.
Melania Trump renegotiates martial agreement
According to Page Six, Melania Trump has spent the last year renegotiating the terms of her prenuptial agreement with Donald. The source says her new “postnup” is in place. The news outlet reported that Melania wanted the new deal because she was worried about how much money would be left for her and Barron after legal bills, damages, and possible fines were paid.
“This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles.[Donald] has suffered,” a source told Page Six, adding that the renegotiated prenup will “provide a more solid future” for Melania and Barron if the couple would go separate ways.
“It’s not that she threatened to leave him. It’s definitely the underlying idea.”
A person familiar with the renegotiated prenup told Page Six that Melania wanted the deal to provide her with money and property. It included cash, where there is a “specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”
Moreover, another source told the news outlet, “This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement.”
Donald Trump is in the middle of his $250 million civil trial in New York. He, his two eldest son, and his companies are accused of inflating their net worth on financial statements in order to be able to secure better loans and financial benefits. The former president has denied doing anything wrong. Still, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff claims that there is one more person in the picture regarding Trump’s businesses and possible criminal activities.
Melania’s former aide and friend have spoken about the Trump organization’s alleged tax fraud, and she was not holding back.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff accuses Melania Trump of covering up ‘nefarious’ family activities
As reported by Newsweek, Wolkoff slammed Melania Trump and claimed she “knowingly LIES and covers up her family’s nefarious activities.”
“There is NO whitewash for Melania,” Winston Wolkoff wrote, as reported by Newsweek. “She remained SILENT as I was falsely defamed, sued, & criminally investigated (she knowingly & admitting on recording that I served truthfully & honorably) but said NOTHING to the people of AMERICA who deserve the TRUTH!!!”
Melania Trump and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff didn’t entirely end on a good note. After her tell-all memoir Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady was released, the Justice Department – under the Trump administration – filed a lawsuit against the former White House worked, accusing her of breaking the non-disclosure agreement by not giving the draft to the White House for review as well as not having permission to write it in the first place.
In 2021, however, President Joe Biden’s administration dropped the lawsuit.
Meanwhile, Wolkoff accused Trump and his organization of being “directly” involved” in spending $107 million from Donald Trump’s inauguration committee to pay off his own business-related debts.
“BETRAYAL is the norm in Trump World – even to FAMILY,” she said some weeks ago. “As soon as you raise the alarm about their nefarious activities they make sure to cast you in an unflattering light & GAG you from speaking the truth with false accusations, non-disclosure agreements, & subpoenas.”
This is not the first time Winston Wolkoff has decided to speak out against Melania Trump. She came under heavy fire from her former aide and friend when Wolkoff released the tell-all memoir Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady.

The two met for the first time in New York City in 2003. Still, Stephanie and Melania’s friendship ended following a bitter feud over the $26 million that Wolkoff’s company was paid to help plan the Trump inauguration. In fact, Wolkoff argued that she was “thrown under the bus” by Melania.
Earlier this year, Wolkoff stated that though Melania was furious with her husband over the criminal cases, she wouldn’t leave Trump. Moreover, the former aide explained that Trump’s wife doesn’t believe she has to “answer or explain herself to anyone.”
“This is a transactional marriage, she knew what she was getting into when she married Donald. Her means of survival is to just act like it never happened,” Wolkoff claimed
No one knows what will happen next. But what has already been decided is that Donald Trump will enter the bid to become US President in 2024. Reports have suggested that Donald Trump and his wife have not been on the best terms since he was first arrested in connection to the Stormy Daniels trial.
Melania Trump open to becoming first lady again
Previously, Melania reportedly stated she never wanted to return to the White House as she thought it was her least favorite place on earth. But things have changed.
Shortly after the Trump 2024 re-election campaign announcement in November, his daughter, Ivanka Trump, revealed she would not be on the campaign trail again with her father. Around that time, it was also reported that Melania had no interest in campaigning again.
Some months ago, in an interview with Fox News, Melania said she looked forward to working alongside her husband again to restore “hope for the future” and “leading America with love and strength” for a second presidential term.
