“Anything But Bud Light”: Kid Rock Fans Promise To Never Drink Bud Light Again Amid Never-Ending Boycott

Kid Rock hosted a recent concert in Nashville, Tennessee, where the famous rockstar’s fans vowed they would never again drink Bud Light after the woke beer’s decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.  The boycott against the beermaker has endured for an entire quarter as it now enters its fourth consecutive month, where the decline in sales shows no sign of slowing down.

Fox News interviewed Kid Rock concert attendees outside of the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where the response was ubiquitous that they would never drink Bud Light again.  One individual said, “What beer are we drinking on the Fourth of July? Um, I don’t know, anything but Bud Light. Maybe Heineken Light.”  Another fan chimed in with a similar response, “No Bud Light. Not here.”

The majority of Americans want companies to stay out of politics and remain neutral on contentious social topics.  One of the Kid Rock concertgoers demonstrated this attitude stating , “Regardless of the company, once they get involved politically, then I don’t want to support that.”

Consumers have shown woke companies they do not support their causes by taking their business elsewhere. “You get two votes in this country,” the fan said . “You get your first vote at the ballot. The second vote is with your wallet.”  Judging by the perpetually declining sales figures, consumers have had a pretty decisive vote against Bud Light.

Kid Rock was an influential figure in the early days of the boycott who helped kickstart the backlash.  The American Tribune reported on the rockstar in early April when he “won the internet” with his response to the Dylan Mulvaney advertisement.

Kid Rock posted a video to his Twitter account, which featured him sending a strong message to Bud Light. He opens the video stating, “Grandpa is feeling a little frisky today. Let me say something to all of you and be as clear and concise as possible.”  The musician then brandishes a firearm and proceeds to light up several cases of Bud Light, sending cans and shrapnel flying everywhere.  Watch the video below.

For the week ending June 24, Bud Light sales declined 27.9 percent compared to the same week last year.  This is a slight improvement from the prior week’s figures which saw a year-over-year decline of 28.5 percent.  This decline of almost 29 percent was the worst weekly decline Bud Light experienced since the start of the boycott in early April.

It is impressive that the conservative backlash against the disastrous Dylan Mulvaney collaboration has sustained itself for this long.  Typically controversies blow over relatively quickly in this day and age with the short attention span of the news cycle.   However, sales figures have progressively worsened as the weeks go on, leading some to predict the boycott could even be permanent.

Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch have also faced various other consequences related to the backlash.  Anheuser-Busch has billions in market value for its shareholders, and the boycott has even spread to other brands underneath its product umbrella.  Bud Light also lost its long-held title of best-selling beer in America to Modelo Especial.
