Miss Universe finalist Sienna Weir tragically dies after accident aged 23 – rest in peace
Sienna Weir, a Miss Universe finalist, has passed away at the age of 23, according to tragic reports.
The Australian model’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news yesterday (May 4), paying tribute to their “angel”.
Sources claim that Weir, a Miss Universe contestant in 2022, was placed on life support after suffering a horse riding accident weeks ago.
Weir, who held a double degree in English literature and psychology from Sydney University, was planning to move to London in order to spend time more with her family and expand her professional and social networks.
The model’s boyfriend, Tom Bull, said: “We loved with a love that was more than love.”
Another friend on social media wrote: “Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel today. I’ll miss everything about you Siena, I love you.
“I’m so lucky to have known you. Thank you for everything.”
In 2022, Sienna featured as one of 27 finalists for Australia’s Miss Universe. She’d previously spoken of her passion for horse riding, saying she couldn’t imagine life without it.
Speaking to Gold Coast Magazine, Weir said: “My family isn’t exactly sure where this passion comes from, but I’ve been riding since I was 3 years old and can’t imagine life without it.
“I travel to rural Sydney 2-3 times a week to train and compete every other weekend in New South Wales or wider Australia.”
According to the Daily Mail, Sienna was riding at Windsor Polo Grounds, close to Sydney on April 2 when her horse fell, leaving her with significant injuries.
She was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she remained for the past few weeks on life support.
The 23-year-old’s last ever social media post was a picture uploaded to Instagram in April. Loved ones and followers have left mournful messages on the post, united in their grief over a life taken too soon.
Sienna’s modeling agency, Scoop Management, shared several photos of her along with the caption: “Forever in our hearts”.
