Fans fuming after The Chicks cancel multiple shows – band suffering from mystery illness
The Chicks are not so popular with their fans right now after canceling multiple upcoming performances.
The country music trio recently revealed that they have been forced to do so due to an undisclosed illness.
On Instagram The Chicks informed their fans about the unfortunate situation and announced the rescheduling of one show and the complete cancellation of another one in New York.
“Due to an ongoing illness, we regret that we must reschedule our show at Merriweather Post Pavilion and cancel our show at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts,” they wrote.

The Merriweather Post Pavilion performance in Maryland, which was initially affected, will now take place on September 20.
Despite promising refunds for the canceled Bethel Woods Center for the Arts show, some fans were left fuming at the fact there was not a rescheduled date.
One fan commented: “We understand someone is sick but you’re not even gonna give us a rescheduled date for Bethel Woods??”
Another fan was upset about the rescheduled performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion, stating: “I’ll be out of the country on the rescheduled date for Merriweather & I spent $500 on these tickets. This is so wrong!!!!!”
This recent update comes after a series of postponed shows over the last five days. The Chicks had to reschedule performances in North Carolina and Tennessee, also citing illness as the reason.
The Chicks’ journey to return to the major touring circuit began last year, marking their first major tour since 2017. Their highly anticipated tour, titled The Chicks Tour, had been scheduled to cover 27 locations across North America from June 2022 until October 2023.
Formerly known as The Dixie Chicks, the group’s members Natalie Maines, Martie Erwin Maguire, and Emily Strayer made headlines in 2020 when they announced their name change in response to the Black Lives Matter protests.
In a statement on The Chicks’ website, they said: “We want to meet this moment,” and decided to drop the term ‘Dixie’, which had historical associations with Southern U.S. states, particularly those affiliated with the Confederacy.
During that time, The Chicks released a song titled ‘March March‘ from their comeback album ‘Gaslighter‘, featuring powerful visuals from Black Lives Matter rallies.
