Tyler Perry’s $100M Gilded Age-Inspired Estate Nearing Completion in Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta, Georgia, United Statesc

Tyler Perry, American actor, director, producer, billionaire and screenwriter, has made some major progress on his sprawling estate outside Atlanta, Georgia. According to TMZ, the property extends 1,200 acres and upon completion will include an impressive 35,000 square foot main house, formal gardens, massive lap pool and organic farm. The property also includes what appears to be a fully finished barn-style structure and a small runway – presumably to accomodate Perry’s RC plane hobby. TMZ reported in 2018 that the property had been in the design & building phase for at least 3 years. New pictures released by Black Enterprise reveal the mansion taking shape and gardens filling in! The 1,200 acre estate is located approximately 32 minutes from Tyler Perry Studios, the actor’s 330 acre film studio.

Perry’s real estate portfolio is ever-changing, owning some of the largest properties in the Atlanta-area and beyond. He purchased one of Georgia’s most talked about estates, Dean Gardens, in 2010 for $7.6 million, with plans to raze the property and develop a new eco-friendly mansion. Those plans were halted and he sold the property to developer, Lennar Homes. Perry also built a 34,688 square foot mansion on 17 acres with formal gardens and 70,000 gallon infinity-edge pool backing onto the Chattahoochee River. According to Velvet Ropes, Perry sold that property in 2016 for $17.5 million. It came back on the market in mid-2018 for $25 million and sold in 2020 for $15 million to Steve Harvey. Perry was officially recognized as a billionaire by Forbes in 2020.
