NCIS Los Angeles fans were left gripped by the season finale of the hit show, even though it came to its conclusion two episodes early. Episode 22 saw the team head to Afghanistan as well as introducing a new foe – here’s everything you need to know about Argento (played by Juan Riedinger).
Who is Argento on NCIS LA?
WARNING: This episode contains spoilers from the NCIS LA season 11 finale.
The finale episode of NCIS LA season 11 saw G Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and the team travel to Afghanistan.
Entitled Code of Conduct, the episode featured the return of Mac (Catherine Bell) after NCIS received a report of a Navy SEAL gone rogue.
The team was called to investigate whether the Navy chief Argento had really murdered a sedated prisoner as well as a number of civilians.
Throughout the episode, the team tried to build evidence up against him and work out whether he actually did it or not.

They learned about his history of violence as well as his familial connections to a senator while they began tracking his movements.
His guilty nature was then revealed after he tried to lead an assault against Callen and Sam, telling his team there were enemies in the building they were in.
Thankfully, his team noticed the irregularities and ordered their chief to step down before the NCIS crew were injured.
This left Sam to arrest him but before he had the chance to take him away, Argento warned him how his Washington DC connections would help him avoid prison.

Now, the showrunner has revealed this will not be the last viewers will see of the navy chief, leading some to wonder if he could be a new enemy for the team.
Speaking to TV Line, R Scott Gemmill revealed: “Argento has no intentions of going down without a fight — even if it means taking everyone else with him.
“He still has some dirty tricks up his sleeve which threaten to destroy the case against him along with more innocent lives.”
Executive producer Frank Military also gave some more insight on the new character to TV Insider.
He confirmed: “The trial of Argento and his mano a mano
morality battle with Sam, we will pick that up next year. It won’t be the first episode.”
The executive also confirmed Argento’s DC connections will play a huge role when this happens.
When asked about them, he added: “It will be a big concern.
“There will be pressure coming from that direction, that this gets squashed.”
However, it seems like viewers will just have to wait until season 12 to see exactly how this all plays out.
Argento is played by Juan Riedinger on the show, who fans may recognise from his other roles.
Riedinger is best-known for playing Dodger in six episodes of Riverdale.
As well as this, he has also starred as Carlos Lehder in Narcos, Rufus Decker in The Romeo Selection and Teo in Good Behaviour.
Tweeting about his appearance on NCIS LA, he wrote: “Managed to sneak in one more acting job before the apocalypse. Always fun to play the psychopath.”
NCIS season 11 is available for catch-up on CBS All Access.
